A Love Story Seven Years in the Making

Not every great love story begins with a swipe or a chance meeting. For Brittaney and Trevor, their journey began in a place many don’t expect — online video games. What started as virtual friendships turned into lasting love. After years of knowing each other online, a real-world opportunity sparked their connection in a whole new way.

Brittaney landed an internship within an hour of Trevor. They met face-to-face and the spark was instant. From that first meeting, things just… clicked.

They’ve now been together for around seven years. From best friends to life partners, their love evolved naturally and beautifully.

Not Your Typical First Date

Unlike traditional love stories, Brittaney and Trevor never had a set “first date.” Their relationship flowed from friendship to something more, without a single defining moment. One of the earliest memories that felt like a date was wandering through the Disney parks together, soaking in the magic, laughter and maybe a hint of butterflies.

Their bond was always effortless, nothing was forced. Their story was about growing closer each day; laughing, learning and eventually building a life.

The Proposal: Humble, Meaningful and So Them

After years of saving, they moved into their very first apartment. It wasn’t much, a small one-bedroom, but it was theirs. It was where they adopted their first dog. Where they truly became a little family. Where they learned the rhythm of living together.

When the time came to move into a new space in downtown Lakeland, they stood in their empty starter apartment one last time. They hugged, reminisced and let the silence hold the weight of their memories. In that final, quiet moment—Trevor proposed.

No grand gesture. No cameras. Just the two of them. It was sincere, emotional and perfect.

A Wedding Day That Felt Like Home

Three words they used to describe their wedding day: homey, tailored, hands-off. And that’s exactly what it was.

Held at Green Bench Brewery, the day reflected their love story in every detail. The choice of venue wasn’t random—it held special meaning. Early in their relationship, they bonded over brewery dates and exploring local spots. When they visited Green Bench, they noticed a few beers named after Dungeons & Dragons references—a shared hobby they’d recently picked up.

It was meant to be….as D&D diehards would say, ‘The dice was always in their favor.’

Sweet Moments, Memorable Details

Brittaney walked down the aisle to “Married Life” from Up, a song full of whimsy, heart and nostalgia. It captured the spirit of their relationship perfectly.

Their first dance? Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” a classic, romantic and timeless song.

Brittaney looked absolutely stunning on the day. Her beautiful bridal gown was purchased from Elope Bridal in Lakeland and her hair and makeup was done by Femme Akoi. She looked every bit the radiant bride—elegant, effortless, and glowing with joy.

Trevor’s face said it all when he saw her for the first time walking down the aisle.

What stood out the most to both of them? The incredible attention to detail from the Chantilly Chic team. Every corner of their ceremony space was intentional, refined and beautiful. They were blown away by the quality and thought put into each decor piece and detail.

A Celebratory Twist on Tradition

While they didn’t host a full-scale reception, their celebration was just right.

After the ceremony and portraits, guests were encouraged to grab a bite from nearby local restaurants. The brewery’s location offered plenty of walkable options and it added a casual, community-focused vibe to the day.

Later, they gathered upstairs at the venue for an open-bar party with music, laughter and connection. No strict timelines. No stress. Just pure joy.

It wasn’t about tradition—it was about authenticity. And that’s exactly what made it so memorable.

Planning with Purpose

Planning started off overwhelming. Brittaney admitted they didn’t know where to begin. But everything shifted once they found Chantilly Chic Celebrations.

The process was smooth, intentional and never rushed. They received thoughtful questionnaires to help shape the design and vibe. It allowed Brittaney and Trevor to be part of the decisions without feeling buried in logistics.

What truly stood out was the communication. Every message, every question was answered within 24 hours. That level of care helped ease nerves and build trust. Even when Brittaney felt unsure, she knew she wasn’t alone. The team was always there; being encouraging, excited, and supportive.

Chantilly Chic Celebrations brought their vintage and rustic vibe to life in the dusty mauve and dusty blue color palette.

Advice From the Bride

For couples considering an elopement, Brittaney’s advice is crystal clear: “Get a planning team like Chantilly Chic.”

She loved picking the details (the flowers, the altar, the vibe) but couldn’t imagine pulling it all off alone. Having professionals handle the behind-the-scenes work gave her peace of mind. It meant she could stay present and enjoy every moment without worrying about logistics.

She never felt like just a client. She felt like a partner in the process. That made all the difference.

Why This Day Mattered

This wasn’t just a wedding. It was a celebration of a journey; years of friendship, a cross-country move, a tiny apartment and countless memories. Every part of their day told a piece of their story.

They didn’t just create a beautiful event. They created an experience. Something honest, cozy and uniquely them.
