When Jon started planning a beachside proposal for his now fiancée, Teena, he knew one thing for sure: it had to be personal, meaningful, and unforgettable. Jon and Teena’s love story started at work, where their friendship blossomed into romance over the past six years. “We’ve been best friends for six years, and I just knew she was the one I wanted to marry,” Jon shares. Their first date- dinner for Teena’s birthday- was the beginning of their next chapter, one that would lead to this very moment. 

The Vision: A Sunset Beach Proposal in Florida

While planning a trip to Clearwater, Florida for Phillies Spring Training, Jon saw the perfect opportunity to make the trip even more special. His dream? A romantic beach proposal surrounded by beauty and love.

After finding Chantilly Chic Celebrations, Jon got to work with our team to bring every detail to life. “Planning with them was absolutely fantastic and smooth. It was everything I had imagined,” he says. For a more serene setting than bustling Clearwater Beach, we secured a permit for Pass-A-Grille, choosing a quiet stretch for its peaceful atmosphere and stunning sunset views.

On March 8, 2024, Jon told Teena they were heading to a museum in St. Pete followed by a couple’s photography session- a dream of hers for their home. After visiting the museum, they met “the photographer” (aka our planner Melanie), who led them to the beach.

That’s when Teena saw it: a romantic setup with a floral arch, glowing candles, rose petals, custom photo posters, and a neon “Will You Marry Me” sign glowing in the golden hour light. Next to the arch stood a single rose in a glass vase, lovingly placed in memory of Teena’s beloved mom-mom.

Jon gave a heartfelt speech, knelt down on one knee, and asked the question he’d been dreaming of. And of course, she said yes.

But the magic didn’t stop there. Jon had flown in their family to join their celebration, and as Teena soaked in the moment, she turned to see both her family and Jon’s waiting nearby to celebrate! “She was so surprised to see everyone there,” Jon recalls. “That was the most memorable and important thing that day.”
